I am bad at selling myself. Not modest about it — bad at it. The work has always come from people who already knew me, which is fine until the day it isn't.
I asked a model what to do about that, which is its own sort of admission. The answer was better than I deserved: don't. Not don't sell — don't do the self part. Write down what you already did. One photo, three sentences. The problem, what you did, what happened after.
That is not marketing. It is a log. And a log attracts the kind of person who reads logs, which is the kind of person I want to work with anyway.
The thing I had been avoiding was inventing something to say. It turns out I don't have to. I fix things most weeks. Some of them are interesting. I just never wrote them down where anyone could see.
So that is what this is. Not a brand. A record of what I actually did, kept in public, on the assumption that being findable by competence beats being memorable by personality.
We will see if it works.
